Develop a portal and port different applications to the developed portal

I have developed a Spring MVC application and a Simple Dynamic web Project. I want to port the Spring application as a portlet to the Simple Dynamic Project which should act as a portal. How do i achieve this? Please help. I have tried on the Liferay Portal, but i do not want to use Liferay Portal, instead want to develop a portal.
